Cleaning Supplies & Equipment

Maryland Cleaning Experts provides environmentally friendly, chemical-free products and all equipment required for the cleaning, including a vacuum. You will need to provide a toilet brush and running water. If you would like us to use specialty products (e.g., Simple Green, bleach, stainless steel cleaner, sponge mop), please leave them out and include this request in your special account instructions.

To reduce cross-contamination, we may use your vacuum upon request.

Toilet Brush

All clients are required to have a toilet brush in the home. If a toilet brush is not available, an additional charge of $7 will apply for a new toilet brush. The Cleaning Technician will leave the toilet brush in the home after use.

Dishes

Please make your best effort to clean up dishes and utensils before we arrive. If there is a significant amount of dishwashing that must be done by hand, a surcharge may be added to the service.

Confirmation

Booking a service online does not guarantee availability for your selected date/time. You will be contacted by email or phone with a confirmation.

Right to Refuse Service

Cleaning Technicians may leave upon arrival if the home is in extreme condition or if they feel unsafe or threatened. If you book a cleaning online that is unreasonable (for example, cleaning up after a large party), the cleaners may refuse service on the spot, and you will be charged the maximum cancellation fee.

Price Adjustments

If the pricing calculator underestimates your cleaning due to the condition of the home being significantly worse than expected, or because inaccurate information was entered in our online pricing calculator, we will notify you by phone and email. We reserve the right to adjust the price, charge the cleaning hourly, or refuse the service.

The client agrees to pay the technician’s parking cost, if incurred.

Cancellation or Unable to Access

A cancellation fee of 50% of the estimated price will be applied to cleanings canceled within 48 hours of the scheduled appointment.

Cancellation During the Cleaning

A cancellation fee of 100% of the estimated price will be applied if the client cancels after the cleaning has started. A cleaning is considered started once the Cleaning Technician enters the property.

Recurring Price Structure

Recurring clients receive a discount after their first cleaning. If you skip cleanings and your frequency becomes lower than what you were set up for, your price will be adjusted to the pricing level for the lower frequency.

About Our Technicians

Direct Hiring of Our Cleaning Technicians

Maryland Cleaning Experts invests heavily in training methods and background screenings to hire quality employees. Hiring our current or former worker(s), and/or accepting side offers from them, makes you liable for an employment referral fee of $5,000.00 if you directly employ (legally or cash basis) anyone currently or formerly employed by us within the two (2) years prior to such employment.

By using our service, you agree to notify us of any attempts to solicit or engage in unauthorized work. If discovered, attorney fees, legal fees, and any miscellaneous costs incurred to investigate and/or collect this fee will be added. Exchanging contact information is considered part of this breach.

Unless compliant with all laws, direct, unreported, or inappropriate employment practices may be illegal. You acknowledge that Maryland Cleaning Experts may be obligated to report illegal hiring activity. Anyone may report such activity to the proper government and judicial authorities for investigation. Implication, complicity, or withholding knowledge of illegal activity may be prosecutable by Maryland Cleaning Experts (when applicable) and under United States federal and local laws.

Employee Safety

Maryland Cleaning Experts reserves the right to remove its employees from your home if the environment becomes unsafe. Our cancellation policy will apply. We do not clean blood, bodily fluids, or human/animal feces.

Pets

We are happy to work around pets. If your pet becomes anxious or presents a safety concern, Maryland Cleaning Experts reserves the right to remove its employees from your home.

If an employee leaves prior to completion, Maryland Cleaning Experts will charge a pro-rated amount based on work performed. If the removal is due to aggressive pets, our cancellation policy will apply.

Breakage, Damage & Loss Policy

Customers must provide photos of damage both before and after the cleaning, along with proof that the damage occurred during the cleaning appointment. All claims must be submitted within 24 hours of the cleaning.

Once we receive your notification, we will contact you as soon as possible. If we do not hear from you within the next 30 days, we will assume you no longer want the issue resolved, and the claim will be void.

We always attempt an identical replacement when possible, but it is not guaranteed. For this reason, Maryland Cleaning Experts requests that all irreplaceable items (whether sentimental or high-value) be stored away and/or excluded from cleaning. Maryland Cleaning Experts is not responsible for the breakage of irreplaceable items.

Maryland Cleaning Experts is not responsible for damage due to faulty and/or improper installation of any item. All surfaces (including marble, granite, etc.) are assumed to be sealed and safe to clean without damage. Chair legs and light tables are assumed to have protective pads and safe to slide without scratching hardwood floors.

If we are specifically requested to clean inside a hutch/china cabinet or wash dishes or wine glasses, the client agrees not to hold Maryland Cleaning Experts or its employees responsible for any resulting damage.

Delays

Cleaning Technicians are allowed a two-hour arrival window to account for traffic, parking, and unexpected delays.

Re-Cleans

If you are unhappy with the service, please contact us within 24 hours so Maryland Cleaning Experts can address the issue. Maryland Cleaning Experts does not offer refunds or discounts, but we guarantee service quality by correcting any issues and improving future cleanings.

Re-cleans can only be completed with the same cleaning technician(s), unless there is a scheduling conflict, and must be requested within 72 hours of the cleaning.

If you are home and notice something was missed, please notify the cleaner immediately so it can be corrected, or call our office before the cleaner leaves your home.

Valuables

Please secure heirlooms, collectibles, and valuables prior to cleanings. Please also advise us in your special account instructions how you would like fragile items handled.

Large and Heavy Items

For safety and liability reasons, Maryland Cleaning Experts does not allow its cleaning professionals to lift or move heavy items or furniture.

Exclusions

Maryland Cleaning Experts cannot guarantee results for mini-blinds, grout, chandeliers, or vaulted ceiling fan cleaning.

Mold remediation is a specialty service. Maryland Cleaning Experts does not provide mold remediation and cannot be held liable for mold-related risks in a client’s home. Maryland Cleaning Experts does not assume responsibility for restoring severely worn, stained, or mildewed caulking and grout.
